We are a grass-roots group of concerned citizens that began in Newport Beach and Orange County, and has grown to include others from throughout Southern California. In late 2013, we began the process of becoming a non-profit 501 -c4 organization. We are a non-partisan group – with members from different political parties – united in our efforts to fight for this Social Justice issue.
Organizations that have officially registered their support to save California’s fire rings – especially with Assembly Bill 1102 – include the Surfrider Foundation, Act Coastal, the NAACP, LULAc (the state’s largest Latino civil rights organization), the Orange county Board of Supervisors, State Senator Lou Correa, Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Huntington Beach Mayor Matt Harper, Costa Mesa Mayor Jim Righeimer, Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pullido, and many more local elected officials – Democrat and Republican alike.
A special thanks to Assemblyman Travis Allen (Republican) and Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (Democrat) who co-authored Assembly Bill 102 together to help save our fire rings.
Will you join us? Can you help us get other organizations, leaders, celebrities, and others too to help bring attention to our cause?
