As you may know, we requested that the court order an injunction to stop any removal of fire rings until our lawsuit is finished. The hearing for the injunction is tomorrow.
Today, the judge issued its tentative ruling (which indicates which way the judge is headed at the hearing), and unfortunately, his tentative decision is to deny the injunction. In his decision, he called the harm in removing the rings small compared to the harm keeping them would cause the few folks who live on the cliffs in Newport Beach.
But the fight is not over. You can show the court how deeply the public cares about this issue just by making your respectful presence in the courtroom at the hearing tomorrow.
The hearing is at 9:00 a.m. in department CX 102, in the Complex Division of the Civil Court.
751 Santa Ana Blvd,
Santa Ana, CA 92701
(It’s a small building on the corner of Santa Ana Blvd. and Flower, behind the main Courthouse.)
Thanks for your commitment to this special California beach tradition!
